This issue was first seen macrumorsAnd so far, five different Redditors have who posted about it In the r/VisionPro subreddit. Engadget It was also told that Same thing happened with its review unit, What makes it interesting is that all the pictures uploaded show vertical hairline cracks in the same area, just above the bridge of the nose. All affected Redditors say they did not do anything obvious to cause the crack, such as dropping the device or storing it improperly. reddit user @dornburn The claim is that he polished the front glass, put on a soft cover, locked it in a box and woke up the next morning to find it cracked. Most other affected Redditors also noted that they either stored their Vision Pro in a case or installed a soft cover.
There is some speculation that this may be a heating issue when charging the Vision Pro in the case or with the cover on. Others argue that it may be a manufacturing problem with the glass or simply a design flaw that puts too much stress on that particular area.
It’s also unclear whether the hairline crack is merely a cosmetic issue, as it appears above one sensor but doesn’t obstruct any cameras. That said, the Vision Pro is expensive to repair. With Apple Care – Joe Vision Pro costs $500 – There is a $299 deductible for damage to the cover glass. Without it, it would cost $799. @ContributionFar8997 They wrote that they went to an Apple Store and were told they would have to pay a deductible to have the crack repaired.
