1. Shoaib Malik and Ayesha Siddiqui (2002 to 2010)
Just before Shoaib Malik got married to Sania Mirza in 2010, a woman named Ayesha Siddiqui from Hyderabad, India, claimed that she had been married to the Pakistani cricketer since 2002, which created a huge controversy then. While Shoaib had denied the allegations, Ayesha Siddiqui filed a police complaint against him for cheating on her. Ayesha, also known as Maha Siddiqui and a teacher by profession, had shown video clips of her marriage with Shoaib as proof. And so, just days before Shoaib’s marriage to Sania, he divorced Ayesha in April 2010. According to reports, more than 10 people helped as mediators between Ayesha and Shoaib to settle the divorce, and she also received alimony of INR 15 crores.
2. Shoaib Malik and Sania Mirza (2010 to 2023)
On 12 April 2010, Shoaib Malik and Sania Mirza got married in a traditional Hyderabadi Muslim ceremony at the Taj Krishna Hotel, Hyderabad. It was followed by a Walima ceremony in Sialkot, Pakistan. The cross-border love affair that resulted in a high-profile marriage was high-profile then. Eight years later, the couple was blessed with a son named Izhaan Mirza Malik in 2018. However, a few years after their marriage, with Sania and Shoaib living separately, rumors were rife that things were not going well well in their marriage. There were also rumors that Shoaib would be dating Pakistani actress Sana Javed in 2023. They further intensified when Shoaib wished Sana on her birthday on social media. However, according to the latest reports, Sania Mirza and Shoaib are now divorced. A PTI report states that “Sania Mirz’s father Imran Mirza told PTI that ‘it was a ‘khula’, which refers to a Muslim woman’s right to unilaterally divorce her husband.”
His family shared a statement saying that Shoaib and Sania have been divorced for a few months now. The statement from the Mirza family and Team Sania read, “Sania has always kept her personal life away from the public eye. However, today the need arose for her to share that Shoaib and they have been divorced for a few months now. She wishes Shoaib well for his new journey ahead!
“At this sensitive time in his life, we would like to ask all fans and supporters to refrain from engaging in any speculation and to respect his need for privacy.”
3. Shoaib Malik and Sana Javed (2024 to present)
However, on January 20, 2024, Shoaib and Sana’s relationship was made public with their wedding photos shared by the new couple. It is worth noting that although this is Shoaib’s third marriage, Sana is also married for the second time. Pakistani television actress Sana Javed, now Sana Shoaib Malik, was previously married to singer Umar Jaswal from 2020 to 2023.
